A Christmas Heartwarmer
While not actually a Christmas short, 5432 Films' "Changing Speeds" will definitely melt any frost you've got, and would make the Grinchs' heart grow four sizes after watching. Simple, genuine and direct, this short tells us that while we shouldn't take life at our own pace, we shouldn't try to be what we're not. We should simply try to be better us-es.
This is the best short film I've seen all year ever, and that includes the ones I've written, directed, and acted in. This is the bar I'm now setting for myself. While I'm not going to try to become filmmakers like them (talented though they are), I'm going to do the work it takes to be a better filmmaker me.
