About Me
I've spent most of my life trying to define myself, so having an "About" page to fill is kind of a lot to tackle.
As a child, I was told by a kind teacher that I had a gift for words. And not just because I knew how to spell "together" before the other first-graders. (It was easy, really, just remember 'to-get-her' and you've-got-it!) My love for polysyllabic wordgames aside, she felt like I was meant to do great things as a writer. Perhaps a novelist, or a journalist, or another writing profession requiring an 'ist' suffix. So, like all children, I listened intently to what she had to say, and as soon as she was done, promptly set out to ignore it. After all, she was a grown up. What did she know?
Two decades later I find myself constantly coming back to her words, realizing that she almost had it right. While I do enjoy writing, what I love is creating. Whether it's creating a picture of a memory that I want to share, or telling them about an ancient and mystical world set upon by the foulest of creatures (or fowlest, if it's an invasion of the Chicken Hordes of Angramar); what I love is building something in the heads of those who are reading, listening, or watching me. All I ask is that you crack open the door a little bit, so I can show you what I've got to share.
Sometimes I do this by writing, sometimes I'll do it by acting, and sometimes I find myself behind the camera, letting others take center stage. But in whatever manner it is, my goal is to provide a bridge from my brain to yours, in the hopes that I can show you why I still think this world is so wonderful, and so scary, and so surprising even after all this time on it.
